Get set for the 3Peat Rides!

We are starting to ramp up preparations for the Outback Station 3Peat Rides coming up Memorial Day Weekend!

Several folks have already preregistered for the Equine Trail Sports events that will be held Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27th! This is our first try at hosting an ETS event, but we’re excited to offer these events to our riders as a way to check out both distance riding and Equine Trail Sports.

If you’re interested in learning more about and trying some ETS events, please preregister here:

https://www.equinetrailsports.com/event/11859/register/ You may also sign up the day of the event, but be aware the entry fee increases by $10.

We have entries coming in for the distance riding events also. If you are coming to our events, please visit our preregistration page and get signed up!
https://outbackstation3peatride.com/online-registration/ You may sign up for the ride the day prior to or the day of the event, but the entry fee will increase by $10.

If you’re having a hard time with online registration for the Distance Riding Events, please drop an email to Carol Giles, our Ride Secretary, linked below, sending her your information so she can get you on her spreadsheet.

If you’re interested in entering one of the Ride and Tie events, please contact the R&T manager, Ben Volk, for more information or any ride and tie questions you may have.

We’ve secured USFS and BLM permits, so will have some fresh trails to offer riders this time ’round at the Outback Station. The trails are mostly two track jeep roads, really good footing with some single track trails mixed in. There are some rocky spots, so we very much recommend hoof protection for your horses. The trails include both desert and forest riding. Max puts lots of thought into the trails and it shows. Plentiful water out on the course, good markings and challenging, but doable courses. We will be making the GPS tracks available for each trail and EDRA members can go to the Ride with GPS EDRA club website or the app on their phone and download the courses into their app. We recommend downloading the tracks ahead of time since cell service is so unreliable in the Outback.

We’ve got some very nice awards lined up for folks that we’re excited to share! The ETS folks will be competing for some nice buckles, high point in each division for 3 out of the 4 offered events completed. Lois Fox has been busy lining up some great awards for the Distance Riders, as well!

Food at the Outback Rides?

We will be offering a main dish every evening, and we’re asking that riders bring a side dish or dessert to share, potluck style. We will provide plates and cutlery. Saturday night we will be doing a “taco bar”, providing seasoned ground beef. It would be great if everyone contributed a component to the tacos!
